Product Description
With the 6th release of Frank August’s multi-award-winning CASE STUDY series, CASE STUDY: 06 | LEGACY RESERVE | 6 BARREL BATCH, the brand sought to honor the heritage of Kentucky bourbon by blending the past and present; literally and philosophically. Comprised of 9x, six-barrel batches of 8, 9, and 10-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys, this release represents a thoughtful dialogue between three of Kentucky’s most storied legacy distilleries.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Inviting and layered, the nose opens with vanilla bean, honeycomb, and caramelized pear. Beneath the sweetness lies a beam of seasoned oak; warm, structured, and unmistakably grounded. Subtle undertones of baking spices, candied fruit, and brown sugar, rise with time in the glass, revealing the depth of its age.
Taste: Rich and expressive. Waves of butterscotch, dark toffee, and baking spice unfold slowly, balanced by roasted pecan and a hint of orange zest. Theres’ a wild elegance to it, an energy that stirs beneath the surface; complex yet composed, like a story that’s been passed down, but never told the same way twice.
Finish: Long and deliberate. Echoes of toasted sugar, charred oak, and dried cherry linger, softened by a silky mouthfeel. Just as it begins to fade, a final note emerges; balanced, elevated, and quietly powerful. A finish that feels nothing short of heavenly.
